Super food – Kale

Kale or borecole, as it is widely known, belongs to the cabbage family. It is available in different leaf colors, including pale green, green, violet green, dark green, and a shade of violet brown. Similar to any other super food, kale is loaded with vitamin A, B complex, and C. It is also a powerful antioxidant. One portion of kale is equal to just about 36 calories and can fulfill your Vitamin A needs for the entire day. It is also rich in beta carotene and enhances vision. It is a rich source of minerals like copper, calcium, iron, and manganese.It is rich in dietary fiber and contributes to effective weight loss.Kale is anti-inflammatory and prevents skin diseases.

Kale Chips

What you’ll need:
1 bunch of kale
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of sea salt

Directions:

1.  Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non-insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2.With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
3. Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes
